The Minority in parliament is accusing Government of funding the Ghana Amalgamated Trust, GAT, contrary to claims that it is a Private Concern.

It also accuses government of pumping ¢800 million of taxpayers’ money into funding the GAT in clear breach of the law establishing the Trust.

The NDC MPs again accused the NPP Administration of deliberately collapsing Local Banks.

Addressing the media in Parliament, Minority Spokesman on Finance, and MP for Bolgatanga Central, Isaac Adongo argued that actions of the Central Bank, points to a deliberate attempt to collapse some banks.

He demanded thorough investigation into actions of the Bank of Ghana in the cleanup exercise, adding that no bank would have collapsed if measures rolled out by the Mahama Administration were carried through.

The Minority Chief Whip, Muntaka Mubarak blamed the Majority side for blocking attempts to summon the Governor of the Bank of Ghana to Parliament to answer questions on the cleanup exercise before the house went on recess.

He however said, the Minority MPs will make another attempt to get answers from Dr. Ernest Addison, when the house resumes.
