MP for Wa Central, Dr. Rashid Pelpuo, has chided government for mismanaging the economy. He said the economy should have been better than what it is currently. He attributed the poor state of the economy to increased corruption and borrowing for unintended purposes.

Speaking on GBC’s Current Affairs Programme, ‘Talking Point’, which discussed the government’s results fair in Kumasi, Dr Pelpuo said this has discouraged investors from coming into the country.

The Director of Communications at NADMO and Member of the Government’s Communication Team, George Ayisi, said the economy is rather expanding, as compared to the economic growth rate inherited from the NDC administration.

An Economist, Dr Ebenezer Ashley, commended government for saving the nation from huge debt which could have collapsed the economy. He said government’s timely action on the collapsed banks, was right as their continuous operations could have added to the debt stock.
