NDC accuses government of failing in Health sector

The National Democratic Congress (NDC), has accused Government of failing in the Health Sector, saying it has abandoned major health infrastructure, which could have reduced the burden on the country.

The Party cites the University of Ghana Medical Center and the Bank of Ghana hospital, which until the coronavirus outbreak, had been closed to the public, despite being completed.

Speaking at its weekly media briefing in Accra, Former Minister of Communications, Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, said a future NDC Government will make Primary Healthcare, accessible to all and include treatment for chronic diseases, such as hypertension and diabetes, as well as provision of essential drugs at no cost to patients.

He said a Ghanaian will not need a National Health Insurance card to benefit from the Party’s Primary Healthcare Scheme, adding that the National Health Insurance Scheme in its current state is a mess.

Dr. Omane Boamah said Health workers will continue receiving stimulus packages. The NDC will also provide jobs for unemployed graduates in the Sector.
