The National Democratic Congress (NDC) is calling for an independent audit of the Voters Register before the deletion of some names.
The Party said the Electoral Commission’s system is defective resulting in multiple registrations which will be used as basis to delete names from the register.
The Electoral Commission said it has registered more than 16 million voters in the just ended registration exercise and has since served notice of cleaning the roll to rid it of multiple registration of foreigners and minors.
Speaking at a news conference in Accra, Director of Elections of the NDC, Elvis Afriyie Ankrah said the audit is necessary.
