The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has insisted that its candidate Christopher Bayere won the Techiman South parliamentary election.
The Electoral Commission (EC) had declared the New Patriotic Party (NPP) candidate Martin Adjei Mensah Korsah as the winner but the NDC said the declaration is fraudulent.
The party maintained that there was no proper collation and declaration.
At a news conference in Accra, the minority caucus in Parliament renewed its call on the EC to do collation of the parliamentary results from the Techiman South constituency.
Deputy Minority Leader, James Klutsey Avedzi run the media through the 267 polling stations from the Techiman South constituency and concluded that the NDC candidate won the seat with a margin of 293 votes.
Meanwhile, the Minority Leader Haruna Iddrisu explained that the government is working to “deny the NDC a parliamentary majority.”
He described the EC’s inability to provide the certified copy of the Techiman South constituency results to stakeholders as shameful.
Haruna Iddrisu further demanded a summary of the poll from the EC.
