NDC Primaries: Xavier Soso elected for Madina constituency

Human Rights Lawyer Francis Xavier Sosu has been elected as the NDC parliamentary candidate for the Madina constituency.

This is the second time Mr. Sosu has contended for the seat.

In 2015 he contended with Amadu Sorogo but he lost.

He had 662, while Sidii Abubakar Musah a close contender and a former youth organiser had 480, Alhaji Fuseini Failah 219 and the only female contender Hajia Rukaya Abubakar had 16 votes.

In all the total vote cast was one thousand 384 out of the one thousand 512 delegates expected to vote.

The total valid vote cast was one thousand 377 and 7 rejected ballots.

Mr. Sosu pledged to work help the NDC get the Madina seat. He vowed to work hard to help his constituents.

His opponents congratulated him and said they would help in getting back the seat from the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).
