The NDC Zongo Caucus has congratulated one of the country’s longest-serving Parliamentarian, Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin on his election as Speaker of the Eighth Parliament.

A statement issued by the Zongo Caucus, Ashanti Regional Coordinator, AlhajiSumailaFuta, Urged the MPs to offer the new Speaker the necessary support in the discharge of his duties.

It expressed the hope that with Mr. Bagbin’s vast experience in Parliament, he would help advance the cause of the august House to deepen Ghana’s democratic dispensation.

The NDC Zongo Caucus asked Mr Bagbin to bring his expertise and knowledge to bear on the deliberations of the House, thereby promoting the interest of the ordinary Ghanaian.

The statement also lauds the NDC Parliamentary Caucus for demonstrating courage and tenacity of purpose to get the new Speaker elected.

It entreats all well-meaning NDC activists to remain committed to the ideals of the party.
