The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has published its 2026 court calendar for several major criminal proceedings, underscoring ongoing efforts to tackle corruption and financial misconduct in the public sector.

In an official post on X (formerly Twitter), the OSP detailed upcoming hearing dates for cases involving prominent figures and allegations ranging from corruption and extortion to abuse of office. The schedule signals active progression in these matters as the new year begins.

The most closely watched case remains The Republic v. Kenneth Ofori-Atta & 7 Others, set for January 29, 2026. This involves the former Finance Minister, who faces multiple charges linked to alleged procurement irregularities and financial impropriety during his time in office. Ofori-Atta remains at large from Ghanaian authorities, having been placed on an Interpol Red Notice, and is currently in U.S. immigration custody following his detention earlier this month. (A related U.S. proceeding was recently adjourned to April 27, 2026.)

Other key cases and their scheduled dates include:

The Republic v. Mustapha Abdul-Hamid & 9 Others — Multiple hearing dates on February 2, 9, 12, 17, 19, and 23, 2026. This concerns alleged extortion at the National Petroleum Authority (NPA) involving oil marketing companies.

The Republic v. Adjenim Boateng Adjei — January 27, 28, and 29, 2026.

The Republic v. Sumaila Abdul Rahman, Stephen Yir-Eru Engmen, Patrick Seidu & Andrew Kuundaari — March 9, 2026.

The Republic v. Charles Bissue & 2 Others — January 28, February 3, and February 4, 2026. This involves the former Secretary to the now-disbanded committee on illegal mining, facing extortion charges, among others.

The Republic v. Issah Seidu & 3 Others — February 9, 2026.

The Republic v. Ibrahim Kofi Sessah & Another — February 11, 2026.

The OSP noted that these dates represent the next procedural steps and pledged to provide regular updates on developments.
