Over 900 NDC Delegates Attend Eastern Regional Conference

More than 900 delegates of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) from all the 33 constituency in the Eastern Region attended the just ended Regional Conference and Executive elections held at Apegusu in the Asuogyaman District.

The conference was used to present the regional reports to the delegates to know its financial stand, achievements, challenges and the way forward to strengthen the party in order to win power in the next general elections

In all 61 contestants contested the various positions including chairman, vice chairman, secretary, treasurer, organizer, Zongo Caucus and communication officer. One of the aspiring candidates for the chairman position, John Owusu Amankra, emerged winner with 375 votes.

The incumbent chairman, Bismark Tawiah Boateng, pulled 281 votes whiles the third contestant, Basil Ahiable, pulled 249 votes.

The Vice Chairman position went for William Atamudzi while the incumbent secretary, Kevor Mark Oliver, maintained his position.

The Organizer position also went for, Hackman Kobore with Ahmed Zakari as the treasurer.

The Zongo caucus positions went for Alhaji Issah Sani Mohammed whiles the communication officer position, also went for Darlas Ampomah Williams.

The Director of Elections of the NDC, Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, commended the delegates for comporting themselves well before, during and after the elections.

He charged all the party members to shun negative attitudes that will dent the image of the party.

He also urged them to come up with strategies that will help unite the party to recapture power in 2020 general elections.
