Parliament has approved the 2019 budget. Rounding up the debate on next year’s financial policy,

the Minority leader, Haruna Idrissu asked why out of the 79 factories being established under the One District , One Factory Policy, government could not site even one in the Upper East region.

He said unemployment has become a ticking time bomb and the budget gave little optimism of it being curbed.

He also raised questions about resourcing the infrastructure ministries.

Mr. Iddrisu also expressed concern about the use of Tax Identification Numbers in accessing social services.

The Majority leader Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu lauded government for prudent management of the economy.

He said the growth rate of agriculture since government came to power has seen a steady increase.
