Parliament begins Second Meeting of First Session on Tuesday, May 25

The Second Meeting of the First Session of the Eighth Parliament begins on Tuesday, May 25, with presentation of two budget performance reports of the Ministry of Youth and Sports as well as the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources.

The presentations will focus on reports from January to December 2020.

The meeting, which begins at 10 a.m. at Parliament House in Accra, will also consider a number of bills for this year.

These include the Ghana Standards Authority Bill, Exemptions Bill, Consumer Protection Bill, Petroleum Revenue Management Amendment bill and the Advertising Council Bill.

The Appointments Committee will also start public vetting of the President’s nominees for Minister of State and Deputy Ministerial positions.

The Public Accounts Committee is also expected to hold its hearings on reports from the Auditor General’s Department, among others.
