Spokeperson for the National Chief Imam, Shiekh Aremeyaw Shaibu, has challenged Parliament to pass a legislation that bars the practice of homosexuality. He said despite declaration by individual statesmen, including the President, a definite legislation will put the minds of Ghanaians to rest.

Speaking on our Current Affairs Programme, Focus, which discussed the purported Conference in Accra by the Pan African International Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Trans-Inter-Sex Association in Ghana, Shiekh Aremeyaw, said Ghana is built on the firm principles of God, and therefore such ills must not be counternanced.

Shiek Aremeyaw called on government to allow religious institutions to have control of the Country’s education system, to imbibe in the youth the right doctrines that abhor practices like homosexuality.

Director, Training and Regional Integration, Coalition for Proper Sexual Right, Dr. Justice Appiah Kubi said Ghana is a peaceful democratic country guided by constitution which protects the rights of individuals, but not what is against biblical principles.

He emphasized that human rights is about protecting the right of the poor and not anything inhuman.

He said LGBT is against God’s proper plan of procreation.
