Parliament begins debate on State of Nation Address

Parliament of Ghana.

The Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin, has directed the Minister for Environment, Science and Innovation, Dr Kwaku Afriyie, to appear before the House to answer questions on measures taken by the State to protect lives along the dangerous Weija ridge.

The directive follows the failure of the Minister to show up twice to address the House after the Ranking Member on the Works and Housing Committee, Emmanuel Bedzrah filed an urgent question on the dangers facing people living along the ridge which is gradually washing away as human activities continue.
