The People’s National Convention, PNC, says its future government will continue to pursue the ideologies and vision of Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah and Dr. Hilla Liman to provide  better living condition for every Ghanaian.

The PNC said this in a Statement issued to mark ‘Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Day’ which falls today, September 21.

In the statement, the PNC said Dr Kwame Nkrumah, Ghana’s first President was a “generational thinker” whose vision for Ghana is seen through the various industrialisation agenda he embarked upon.

“His vision for Ghana is manifested in numerous infrastructures scattered through out the country and industrialisation agenda he embarked upon. These are what made his contemporaries to contend that he was way ahead of them. He was a generational thinker” the statement said.

The statement wished Ghanaians and Africa a happy day in honour of a “selfless leader.”

Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Day

Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Day is a day set aside to remember, celebrate and honour Ghana’s first President Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah who was also Ghana’s first Prime Minister and Africa’s foremost champion of continental unity and liberation of the black race.

The day which would have marked the 113th birthday of Dr. Nkrumah if he was alive is being commemorated by Ghanaians with a statutory holiday.

BELOW IS THE FULL STATEMENT BY THE PNC

21st September, 2022 marks the 113th anniversary of the birth of Osagyefo Dr Kwame Nkrumah, the African Man of the Millennium and the founder of our mother land Ghana.

We in the PNC wish all Ghanaians a happy founder’s day and to the entire Africa a happy day in honour of a selfless leader.

His vision for the African continent is summarised in his own writing, when he wrote in 1961 ‘Divided we are weak; united, Africa could become one of the greatest forces for good in the world. I believe strongly and sincerely that with the deep-rooted wisdom and dignity, the innate respect for human lives, the intense humanity that is our heritage, the African race, united under one federal government, will emerge not as just another world bloc to flaunt its wealth and strength, but as a Great Power whose greatness is indestructible because it is built not on fear, envy and suspicion, nor won at the expense of others, but founded on hope, trust, friendship and directed to the good of all mankind.’

His vision for Ghana is manifested in numerous infrastructures scattered through out the country and industrialisation agenda he embarked upon. These are what made his contemporaries to contend that he was way ahead of them. He was a generational thinker.

The PNC is assuring Ghanaians that its future government shall continue Osagyefo’s vision for Ghana, and that of Dr. Hilla Liman to ensuring a better living condition for every Ghanaian.

PNC: Service with Honesty
