PNC elects branch executives in October ahead of election 2024

The People’s National Convention (PNC), has slated the month of October for its internal elections, which start with the branch executives’ elections.

The elected branch executives will steer the affairs of the party at its base ahead of elections in 2024.

The elections, scheduled to start on Saturday, October 1, 2022, are said to mark the beginning of the party’s internal reorganisation move ahead of the 2024 presidential and parliamentary elections.

A communiqué issued after a National Executives Committee (NEC) meeting on Wednesday, September 14, 2022, said that a roadmap was agreed to in accordance with Article 45(1a) of the party’s constitution.

According to the Acting Chairman of the party, Bala Saliu Maikankan, and the General Secretary, Madam Janet Asana Nabla, Tuesday, November 15, to December 15, 2022, have been earmarked for constituency executive elections, with all regional executive polls expected to be done with by the first week of February 2023.

“Members in good standing (especially paid–up–dues members) are encouraged to contact their respective constituency offices to pick up forms, pay the approved fees, and contest their desired positions at all levels,” the statement said.

Madam Asana Nabla told GBC Ghana Online that she has high hopes that the elections of executives at various levels will put the party on the right track to win power in the 2024 general elections.
