The Accra Regional Police Command has turned down a request for protection by the NDC youth wing for the planned ‘March for Justice’ yesterday to demand justice for all persons killed or brutalized by security agencies particularly in Ejura and slain fix the country campaigner, Ibrahim Mohammed.

The party’s youth wing said the protest is also to demand social justice for the unemployed.

According to the Police, although it acknowledges receipt of the group’s letter, it “cannot provide the needed security during the intended street protest” due to existing COVID-19 restrictions, citing Section 4 of the Public Order Act 1994 (ACT 491) concerning public health.
