As part of efforts to build the capacity of the security agencies in Ghana, the Kofi Annan Peacekeeping Training Centre (KAIPTC) in collaboration with the Police service is organising series of Electoral Violence and Security training programmes for them.
The programme began Monday, September 28, at the KAIPTC in Accra and will be replicated in Kumasi and Tamale since most hotspots during elections are usually found in these areas.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, the Director-General in charge of Administration at the Ghana Police Service, COP Dr. George Akuffo Dampare said the Police Service is doing its best to keep the country safe in preparation for the upcoming elections.
He urged the participants to psyche themselves up to work effectively at any post during the December 7 polls.
