PPC congratulates Speaker Bagbin on renomination as Speaker of 9th Parliament

The leadership and entire membership of the Parliamentary Press Corps (PPC) have extended warm congratulations to the Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, on his re-nomination as Speaker for the 9th Parliament under the Fourth Republic.

The congratulatory message was contained in a statement issued on January 6, 2025, and signed by the Dean of the PPC, Mr. Simon Agarnab.

The leadership and members of the corp praised Rt. Hon. Bagbin for his exceptional leadership and contributions to the 8th Parliament, describing his re-nomination as well-deserved and a testament to his unwavering dedication to the Legislature.

“This well-deserved re-nomination comes as no surprise to us, considering your display of exceptional leadership and significant contributions to the 8th Parliament. Your dedication and commitment to the Legislature have been remarkable.

You have been more than a leader; you have been a father figure, and we remain deeply grateful for your unwavering support and guidance,” portions of the statement read.

The PPC acknowledged the Speaker’s role as a father figure to members of the press corps, expressing gratitude for his guidance and support.

The Corps pledged to continue working closely with the Speaker to strengthen Parliament’s role in national development and to support his vision of excellence in governance.

Rt. Hon. Bagbin’s re-nomination has been widely lauded as a recognition of his pivotal role in navigating the complexities of the 8th Parliament and fostering constructive dialogue among various political factions.
