President Akufo-Addo cuts sod for Axim Sea defense wall

President Akufo-Addo has cut the sod for work to start on the Axim Sea defence wall. This is in fulfillment of a pledge he made to the people of Axim, in the run-up to the 2016 general election.

The sea defense wall which is being undertaken by Makam Plant Hire Ltd., is expected to be completed in 24 months, with the contractors assuring the President of the prompt execution of the project.

President Akufo-Addo who earlier joined the people of Axim for the Kundum festival announced a number of infrastructural projects to take place in the area. These include the construction of the Axim town roads, construction of a sports stadium, transformation of the Victoria Park in the area into a well-designed ceremonial ground among others.

On education, President Akufo-Addo stated that over 1,200 school children in Evalue-Gwira have so far benefited from the free SHS policy, with more to be absorbed this year. He also announced that Nsein SHS has been selected by government as a model school, which will result in the expansion of infrastructure at the school.
