President Akufo-Addo has warned against unguarded statements that can plunge the country into chaos.

He said words can be powerful as guns, and cautioned all not to allow the action and inaction of a few misguided persons to destroy the peace the country is enjoying.

Speaking at this year’s Eid-ul-Adha at the newly constructed National Mosque, the President, who described himself as a firm believer of free speech, said there is only one country called Ghana and that people must protect the Ghanaian way of life.

He asked the youth not to allow themselves to be used for unpatriotic causes and called on Muslims to celebrate the Eid in moderation.

Meanwhile, the President has expressed worry over the rising cases of Covid-19 in the country. He said the current situation in Ghana is an indication that Ghanaians have let their guards down as there is complete disregard for the health and safety Protocols.

Addressing the Muslim faithful on the occasion of Eid-ul-Adha, President Akufo-Addo said until the entire adult population is vaccinated, the Protocols outlined by the Ministry of Health must be followed.
