President Akufo-Addo’s UN speech lauded

Head of Ancient Studies at the University of Ghana, Dr. Llyod Amoah has described as paramount President Akufo-Addo’s justification of the relations between Africa and China.

He said it is unfair claims by sections of the public who think the President’s submission will trigger neo colonialism between Africa and China.

Dr. Amoah said Africa has rather put its best foot forward because the West knows the economic benefits of the relationship with China.

President Akufo-Addo justified why Ghana and other African countries are forging relationship with China saying the phenomena is not new.

He said rich and well established countries have also been paying regular visits to China in search of new economic ties.

Taking his turn at the 73rd Session of the UN General Assembly, he said the trade war between the U.S and China is having an adverse effect on Africa including Ghana. He said Africa is determined to get out of poverty.

President Akufo-Addo appealed to the International community to help stem the huge flow of illicit funds from the continent.

He said Ghana and Africa are eager to make rapid transformation from poverty to prosperity.
