The Electoral Commission, EC, will open nominations for this year’s presidential and parliamentary elections on Monday, September 9.

Nominations will close on Friday, September 13.

The Commission has also set the filing fee for Presidential Candidates at 100, thousand Cedis with a reduced fee of 75 thousand cedis for female candidates and persons with disabilities.

In a statement, the Commission directed that completed Presidential Nomination Forms should be signed by the Candidate and not less than two registered voters of each District Assembly.

Meanwhile, the EC says all prospective candidates who wish to contest this year’s Presidential and Parliamentary Elections as Independent Candidates should contact the Commission for a Passcode.

This will enable the aspirants to download the Presidential and Parliamentary nomination forms posted on the website of the Commission.

A statement by Deputy Chairman in charge of Operations, Samuel Tettey, informed prospective Independent Candidates that the Commission will receive nominations for the elections of President and Members of Parliament from Monday, 9th September to Friday, September 13.
