Public confidence in the Electoral Commission to conduct a free and fair election is said to have nose-dived by more than 4 percent.

This is contained in a survey conducted by the NCCE dubbed “Matters of Concern to the Ghanaian Voter.”

Statistics from the report this year pegged public trust in the EC at 62 point 2 percent, and 66 point 5 in 2016.

The Director of Research, Gender and Equality at the NCCE Dr. Henrietta Asante Sarpong, said public confidence in the EC is high in the Western Region and low in the Volta Region.

Reacting to this, the Acting Director of Public Affairs of the EC, Mrs. Sylvia Annoh told GBC’s Nathaniel Nartey it would be unfair to generalize the findings.
