National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, has urged party members to remain calm, disciplined and united as President John Dramani Mahama’s government gradually settles into office.
Speaking in the Asuogyaman Constituency as part of a three-day “Thank You Tour,” Mr Nketiah addressed concerns from grassroots members, branch and constituency executives, ward coordinators, cadres and assembly members who had gathered to welcome him.
He assured supporters that their patience would soon be rewarded as government appointments are rolled out.
“I urge you all to remain calm. Opportunities will come. This government is not leaving anyone behind,” he said.
The NDC Chairman also warned against internal divisions, drawing lessons from the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), which he described as fractured.
“If we do what we want with the positions we have, our party will be divided like the NPP. But I know that will never happen,” he stated.
Mr Nketiah further accused the NPP of engaging in destructive politics, noting that its flagbearer aspirants were publicly criticising one another.
“What the NPP is now doing is a contest to hell. The flagbearer aspirants are enumerating the sins and faults of each other. That is not the path we should follow,” he added.
He stressed that the NDC’s strength lies in unity and discipline, urging members to focus on supporting the Mahama administration to deliver on its promises.
The tour, following the NDC’s electoral victory, aims to express gratitude to supporters while addressing grassroots concerns.
