Director of Communication of the NPP and Former MP of Adenta, Yaw Buaben Asamoa, says in mounting pressure on the Health Minister, Kwaku Agyemang Manu to resign over the Sputnik ‘V’ Vaccine fiasco, the context of the decision making must not be overlooked.

He said the Minister was operating under pressure to deliver in the interest of saving lives.

Mr. Buaben Asamoa said in analysing the issues there is the need to factor in whether or not the Minister had willful intent for which he avoided relevant processes for personal gains.

Speaking on GBC’s Current Affairs Programme, ‘Focus’, Mr. Asamoa said both sides of the argument must tender in evidence to support their claims. He noted that although the Health Minister’s explanation may not be convincing, the Covid-19 pandemic remains a major game changer in the discussion.

“Perhaps we can give him the benefit of the doubt. If there’s any saving grace it is the context of Covid, within which he was operating at that material time, the context of the decision making and of course whether or not in that context, we can presume that he had willful intent to avoid those processes for personal gain,” Mr. Buaben Asamoa stated.
