The Supreme Court has struck out a suit brought before it by Bawku Central MP, Mahama Ayariga against the Akufo-Addo government demanding certain modalities for implementation of flagship programmes.

The Bawku Central MP, Mahama Ayariga, had sued the Akufo- Addo administration over the implementation of some of its key initiatives such as the Infrastructure for Poverty Eradication Programme (IPEP), Free Senior High School, Planting for Food and Jobs as well as the operations of existing agencies like the Microfinance and Small Loans Center (MASLOC) and others.

In Mr. Ayariga’s suit, he argued that the government failed to submit operational modalities for the policy framework of some of these programmes to Parliament.

A seven member panel chaired by the Chief Justice, Sophia Akuffo in its sitting Tuesday discarded the suit since the MP could not do due diligence in Prosecution.

He also failed to appear before the court neither did he have anybody representing him legally to follow up with the case. The case was accordingly struck out.
