Tax Stamp Policy: Gov't pledges to address challenges

President Akufo-Addo has promised to address challenges associated with the implementation of the Tax Stamp Policy.

He said like any new policy, it is likely to face challenges and his government will not back down but address it head on.

President Akufo-Addo urged Chief Executive Officers and Head of Businesses to join hands with government to achieve a common goal of building a resilient economy.

The meeting touched on reforms within the private sector including the introduction of the tax stamp, paperless system, the banking sector among others.

On the banking sector, the President said the stories of how certain local banks operated in the country is now becoming a matter of public record and it is for this reason why the sector is being sanitized. He said a regulated banking sector is the best guarantee of the competitive businesses

Addressing Chief Executives and Heads of Businesses within the Tema enclave as part of his three day working tour of Greater Accra, President Akufo-Addo said his government believes in the idea of a strong market economy that would be the most efficient and effective way of developing the economy.
