Two arrested in connection with attack on Keta MP-elect

Two persons have been arrested as part of investigations into the attack on the MP-elect for Keta Constituency, Kwame Gakpey.

According to the Police, the two persons were arrested yesterday, hours after the attack.

Volta Regional Police PRO, Sergeant Prince Dogbatse, said, the Police is treating the crime purely as a robbery incident and not a politically-motivated incident.

The Police added that the two persons were arrested in the Anlo-Afiadenyigba area based on Police intelligence.

Mr. Gakpey who was elected on December 7, as a first time MP for the Keta constituency was attacked by some gunmen on Friday dawn at his residence in Afiadenyigba.
