UER: Residents laud ‘One Constituency, One Ambulance’ initiative

Residents in the Upper East Region have expressed gratitude to government for its initiative to distribute two hundred and seventy-five ambulances across various Constituencies in the country.

The Region presently has one ambulance serving a population of about one million.

Relatives of referred patients, especially at the Regional hospital have to rely on commercial vehicles to transport the sick the Region.

This is why the residents expressed through GBC’s Radio Ghana on government’s move to distribute more ambulances targeting all constituencies.

The Upper East Regional Administrator of the National Ambulance Service, Awuni Ali Baba, described the gesture as timely. He said more personnel have been trained for the National Ambulance Service.

The residents appealed for improved road network linking the various health facilities to prolong the life span of the ambulances.
