An NDC affiliate Group known as United Cadres Front (UCF), Tema Regional Branch has called on Government to speed up investigations into killings before, during and after the 2020 General election.

According to them, it’s long overdue for the Ghana Police/Government to conclude investigations into these killings that took place in some of the Constituencies on a voting day where about eight (8) were murdered.

Speaking at a Press Conference held at Tema on Wednesday 8th December 2021 on “heinous crimes perpetual against harmless innocent Ghanaians” dubbed ‘Martys Day of Democracy’, the Chairman of the Group, Oliver Agbenyo-Ahiafor noted that justice must be served in order to bring peace to the department souls whiles bringing joy to the bereaved families.

They demanded the immediate arrest of the violent thugs who inflicted pain allegedly on the eight men and women who died painfully.

He mentioned that, “if this arrest and prosecutions are not done, we will consider this as an abdication of the responsibility of the police administration and by extension the Government”.

We will have no other option than to mobilize our members to demand justice for the victims”.

While they call on the Police/Government to act and bring alleged perpetrators of heinous crimes to book before the next election, “we want to send a strong signal to the Government and its state-sponsored vigilantes that we will be battle-ready to respond in multiple measures if these thuggery and violence reoccurs in the 2024 elections”.

“We condemned and still condemn in no uncertain terms these incidents.

It is worth noting that these thuggery were done by state security.”

Mr. Agbenyo-Ahiafor indicted the government as he noted that, “these were state sponsored thuggery on innocent Ghanaians.

The NPP has always demonstrated the ‘All die be die’ mantra posted by their President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and has become their political philosophy.”

He revealed that, they have seen “the extreme show of brutish force by this government and its assigns.

The eight, according to them are: Emmanuel Dompreh 36 Odododiodo, Ibrahim Abass 30 Anlekuma Central, Abdallah Ayaric 18 Techiman South, Zakaria Samira 14 Savelugu, Botwe Tackie 19 Awutu-Senya West, Tajudeen Alhassan 39 Techiman South, Fuseini Musah 14 Savelugu and Rita Otoo 15 Odododiodo.
