Volta caucus in Parliament calls for increased police presence in Sogakope

The Volta Caucus in Parliament wants more police personnel posted to Sogakope and the entire Tongu District following the murder of the Assemblyman for the area, Marcus Mawutor Adzahli.

Addressing the Parliamentary Press Corps on the issue, Member of Parliament (MP) for South Tongu, Kwabena Woyome, in whose jurisdiction the incident happened said, the area is becoming increasingly insecure and unsafe for residents.

He noted that the Minister for the Interior and the Inspector General of Police must take action immediately, adding that the residents are justified in demanding the mass transfer of police officers in Sogakope, since there is a strong perception of their complicity in the crime.
