President Akufo-Addo begins 3-day tour of Volta and Oti Regions

President Akufo Addo has begun his three-day tour of the Volta and Oti Regions, with an assurance that his government will undertake more development projects and social interventions, to enhance the livelihood of Ghanaians from all walks of life.

The President kick-started the tour at Nkwanta in the Oti Region, where he reiterated his commitment to embark on Agriculture and road projects in the region, to boost the local economy.

He is accompanied by Minister for Trade and Industry, Alan Kyemanteng, Minister for Roads and Highways, Kwasi Amoako Atta, and Minister for Energy, Peter Amewu.

President Akufo Addo began the tour at Nkwanta in the Nkwanta South District, where he graced a durbar of the chiefs and people in the area.

The Paramount Chief of Akyode Traditional Area, Nana Obonbo Sewura Lupuwura thanked the President for ensuring that they achieved their long term dream of creating the Oti Region.

He also lauded the President for implementing policies and programmes that have inured to the benefit of Ghanaians.

Nana Obonbo, however, appealed to President Akufo Addo to boost farming activities which is their predominant occupation, by constructing access roads to their farm gate to enable them to transport their farm produce to the markets.

President Akufo Addo pledged to ensure, that the people of Oti Region get their fair share of the distribution of national cake, especially in the area of Agriculture.

The President later cut the sod for the construction of the Oti Regional Food and Agriculture Directorate at Nkwanta, and also commissioned a Business Support Centre at Kadjebi.
