President Akufo-Addo has extended the ban on public gatherings to the end of this month, defying pressure on Government to lift the ban.
In his 9th address to the nation on the updates on measures to curtail the spread of COVID 19, President Akufo-Addo urged all not to use religious, political or ethnic sentiments to frustrate the government’s efforts at curtailing the spread of the virus.
He noted that even though the ban on social gatherings is causing some discomfort for Ghanaians, it is necessary in the current circumstances.
The President hit back at critics, saying they need it for their political survival.
