President Akufo-Addo mounts strong defence of appointees over corruption allegations

President Akufo-Addo has declined calls by the Minority in Parliament for a Presidential probe into allegations of corruption in the purchase of a Chancery for Ghana’s Mission in Oslo Norway.

Describing the allegation as a fabrication and empty in substance, the President said he expects attempts by the opposition to tag his government of corruption to get worse.

His comments come after a news conference by the Minority, accusing the Foreign Affairs Ministry of corruption in the purchase of the said building.

The Minister for Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey, who has vehemently denied the allegation, said government has not expended any pesewa on the said building in Oslo, Norway.
