The Prime Minister of Saint Kitts and Nevis, Dr Terrance Michael Drew, has departed Ghana after a four-day official visit aimed at strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries.

Dr Drew was bid farewell at the airport by the Minister of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Abla Dzifa Gomashie, together with officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The Prime Minister arrived in Ghana on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, and was received on arrival by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa.

During the visit, Dr Drew, who was accompanied by his wife and a delegation of government officials, undertook a series of engagements aimed at deepening diplomatic, cultural and academic ties between Ghana and the Caribbean nation.

His official programme began on Wednesday, March 4, with a meeting with the management of the University of Ghana, where he held discussions with Vice-Chancellor, Nana Aba Appiah Amfo on strengthening academic collaboration, cultural exchange and diaspora relations.

Later, he was hosted at the Jubilee House for bilateral talks and an official luncheon aimed at enhancing diplomatic and economic cooperation between the two countries.

As part of the visit, Dr Drew also toured key historical and cultural landmarks including the W.E.B. Du Bois Memorial Centre for Pan-African Culture, the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park, and the Cape Coast Castle in the Central Region.

Dr Drew also participated in Ghana’s 69th Independence Day celebrations on March 6 at the Jubilee House, joining dignitaries and government officials to commemorate the country’s historic milestone.

The visit is expected to further strengthen the longstanding relationship between Ghana and Saint Kitts and Nevis, particularly in the areas of diplomacy, cultural heritage, tourism and diaspora engagement.
