Paris Saint-Germain have moved ahead of Juventus in the race for Parma goalkeeper Zion Suzuki by submitting a formal €33 million offer to the Italian club. According to transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano, the Ligue 1 champions’ proposal has put them in the lead, with Parma now ready to negotiate.sports.
Suzuki’s profile and market value
Suzuki, born in New York and now Japan’s first-choice goalkeeper, has become one of Serie A’s most promising shot-stoppers since joining Parma, racking up 57 top-flight appearances and 28 international caps. He is under contract at the Stadio Tardini until 2029, and Parma had been anticipating offers around the €30 million mark, with some Italian reports suggesting the club now values him between €35–40 million.
PSG’s goalkeeper puzzle
The Parisian interest is seen as slightly surprising given Matvey Safonov’s status as PSG’s established number one and the club’s heavy investment in Lucas Chevalier last summer. Earlier reports indicated PSG could sign Suzuki and immediately loan him back out to ensure regular playing time, a structure that would also protect his development while giving Parma certainty over a replacement.sports.
Juventus face being undercut
For Juventus, the main concern is that a target they had hoped to land could slip away with little warning after PSG’s acceleration. While the Bianconeri remain interested in other goalkeepers, including Guglielmo Vicario, Suzuki’s potential departure to Paris would force them to reassess their shortlist.sports.
Negotiations progressing, but no deal yet
As of early August 2026, no agreement has been finalised between PSG and Parma, but negotiations are progressing well and Suzuki has reportedly approved a move to Paris after being presented with the club’s project. The French side are expected to continue talks this week and hope to conclude the transfer swiftly before the new European season.
