Roads and Highways Minister inspects parts of Accra roads

The Minister of Roads and Highways, Kwesi Amoako Atta says major rehabilitation works on the Agbogbloshie market road will start in the first quarter of this year.

During an inspection tour of some roads in the metropolis. Describing the area as an industrial hub, Mr. Amoako Atta said the 1.4 kilometer dual carriage road when completed will enhance vehicular movement and economic activities in the area.

Mr. Amoako Atta expressed displeasure at an encroachment on the Odaw River Reserve and asked the Director of Urban roads to investigate the process under which that portion which links the graphic road to the agbogbloshie road.

From Agbogbloshie, the minister and his team inspected the Asofa – Amamole road. Mr Amoako Atta later inspected the progress of work on the Adentan road where construction of foot bridges is on going.

The Minister expressed satisfaction at the progress of work so far on the foot bridges.

The Adenta-Madina road footbridges project awarded to six contractors are at various levels of development.
