Former workers of the Non-Formal Education Division, NFED, of the Ministry of Education have honoured Robert Joseph Mettle-Nunoo, a former Director of the division.

Mr. Mettle-Nunoo is said to have played a vital role in functional literacy in Ghana during his time as Director of the division as he impacted on the lives of non-literate Ghanaians with functional literacy skills.

He was described by the former staff of the division as an extraordinary team leader, who inspired his followers to support a worthy cause for Ghana.

Mr. Mettle-Nunoo’s time as Director saw a significant growth in functional literacy classes across the country with thousands of Ghanaians benefiting from such classes.
