Ghanaian Reggae and Dancehall artist, Emmanuel Andrews Sammini known by his stage name Samini, has boldly opposed the notion that Ghana has lost its musical identity.

In a recent interview on Property FM, the musician stated that he has consistently crafted “Samini music” for the past two decades, maintaining it as his distinctive sound.

Samini underscored that a discernible thread runs through his musical style, and when listeners compare his recent songs to those from the past, they will identify this consistent essence. Confidently expressing his perspective, he stated, “I don’t think we’ve lost our sound, so I don’t share the same sentiments or views.”

Reflecting on his musical journey, Samini referenced his classic track “Where My Baby Dey” to emphasize that the core of his musical identity has endured.

He pointed out that the unique sound defining his artistry has persisted over the years, dismissing the notion that Ghana has lost its musical sound.

“Because I’ve been creating Samini music for the past two decades and that’s what I’m about. So if you listen to good vibes today and you go and listen to where my baby dey, you’d know that it’s the same guy,” he added during the show.
