“I am deeply grateful for the trust reposed in me,” he said, and added that his focus would be on repositioning NUGS-UK to better respond to the needs of Ghanaian students.

The new president also said the union must play a stronger role in advocacy and engagement with key institutions, while remaining relevant to the realities facing students today.
“The era of paper talks is over,” he said. “Students need solutions, advocacy and presence.”

The newly appointed executives who will serve with him include Gifty Abbam Tawiah, General Secretary; Emmanuella Manukure, Secretary for Women’s Development; Angela Elinam Atsu, Secretary for Finance; Samuel Abokyi, Secretary for Press; and Derrick Asante Agyapong, Secretary for Programs and Projects.
