Minister of Sanitation and Water Resources, Madam Cecilia Abena Dapaah, has rejected the Alliance for Social Equity and Public Accountability (ASEPA) report which rated her as one of the worst performing ministers in the government of President Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo saying the findings are unfair.

In a press statement released Wednesday, October 16 and signed by Mensah Thompson,
Executive Director-ASEPA, the Civil Society Organisation said Mrs Cecilia Dapaah had the lowest marks in its 2019 Ministerial Performance Tracking Report.

But taking her turn at the Meet The Press series in Accra, Tuesday December 3, she dismissed the findings.

“We reviewed those findings and fortunately for us the stakeholders, Mr Thompson paid me a visit and I think he later learnt more about the ministry.”

“Most people don’t even know we have a mandate for water as well.”

“I have totally rejected their findings. It wasn’t fair,” she said, adding that, “they were not briefed with the full spectrum of our area of operation and I hope he [Mr Thompson] will take it in good faith and make his own corrections.”

“Myself, my deputies and our team of technical people and heads of agencies, we deliver.”

“I don’t sit in the office; I move around.”

The minister disclosed that she had negotiated a deal for wastewater treatment and the private sector.

“I was able to negotiate for $100 million for Ghana to use in the waste water treatment sector after having the honour of representing Ghana and the President in Budapest.”

“If I wasn’t a deliverer, I wouldn’t have even appealed to anybody or any country for us to have that.”

She urged the public to check out their findings thoroughly.
