The Government of Senegal has unleashed a fierce backlash against the Confederation of African Football (CAF), rejecting the shocking decision to revoke their AFCON 2025 title and hand it to Morocco.

In an official statement, Senegalese authorities branded the ruling as “unfair, shocking, and unacceptable,” insisting that the Lions of Teranga clinched the trophy through a fair and hard-fought final on the pitch.

“This decision not only undermines our victory but strikes at the heart of African football’s credibility,” the statement declared, accusing CAF of a move that erodes trust in the continent’s premier tournament.

Senegal’s outrage escalates with direct calls for an independent international investigation, hinting at possible corruption within the decision-making process.

Officials reaffirmed their unyielding commitment to defending the national team’s honor, vowing to restore what they view as a rightful triumph amid growing fan fury across West Africa.

Undeterred, the government confirmed it will pursue legal action at the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), signaling a protracted fight that could reshape AFCON’s governance.
