Six Envoys receive Letters of Credence

Six new enjoys who have been accredited to represent Ghana abroad have received their Letters of Credence from President Akufo-Addo

They are Samuel Yao Kuma, High Commissioner designate to Australia, Doris Adzo Denyo Brese, Ambassador designate to Czech Republic, Mohammed Habib Idris, Kuwait, Kingsford Amoako, Liberia, Mark Michael Entsie, Lybia, and Alex Owiredu Adu, Niger. 

President Akufo-Addo charged the Envoys to strengthen and deepen ties of cooperation and bond of friendship with their respective countries of accreditation. 

The Five Ambassadors and one High commissioner have distinguished themselves in public service and are imminently fit to represent Ghana in their respective place of accreditation. Their appointment comes at a time several countries are working to return to normalcy after the effects of the covid pandemic.  

President Akufo-Addo

President Akufo-Addo noted that Ghana has ”begun the process of reviving the economy with the three-billion-dollar facility from the IMF”. This, he said, will repair in the short run, public finances that have been seriously hit. 

Government in 2021, launched the Ghana care Obaatanpa project which set out the road map towards revitalization of the economy.  President Akufo-Addo urged the envoys to contribute to the success of the program and facilitate foreign investments into the country. 

As Part of their responsibilities at the multilateral level, President Akufo-Addo asked them to work with their host the governments to assist in the executing a common agenda, in the fight against armed conflicts, terrorism and violent extremism as well as threats of climate change and illicit outflow of funds. He reminded them of the onerous responsibility of promoting the image of Ghana.

The Six envoys expressed appreciation to President Akufo-Addo for the confidence in them. They promised to guard jealously, the image of Ghana and help attract investment.
