A Six lane multi-national dual carriage way is to be constructed from Abidjan in Ivory Coast through Ghana to Nigeria.

The project which will take off next year is among three road projects being undertaken under the European External Investment Plan to ensure free movement of goods and services in the sub region and boost trade.

It is being funded by the European Union and ECOWAS member countries. These were made known at the first Steering Committee meeting of ECOWAS and the West African Economic and Monetary Union in Accra which is assessing West Africa’s priority areas for investment in the Transport and Energy sectors.
