The Ghana Highway Authority, (GHA), has assured the public that, The Lower River Volta Bridge located at Sogakorfe in The Volta region is not in danger of collapse.
In statement to respond to some negative reportage on the bridge, The Authority however, admitted that, “expansion joint of the bridge are in poor condition and action for their replacement is been done”.
According to statement released by acting Chief Executive, Nicholas Dome Brown, the replacement of joints are expected to be completed by December, 31 2019.
“Whiles The Highway Authority is taking immediate measures to minimize any risk, Motorists and other road users are entreated to continue to use the bridge.” The statement said.
