Sports Minister launches Duke of Edinburg Awards

The Minister for Youth and Sports (MOYS), Isaac Kwame Asiamah has launched the 13th Duke of Edinburg’s International awards dubbed, “Shaping our future and world”.


The awards scheme seeks to empower young Ghanaians to achieve practical life skills for development.

According to Mr. Asiamah, there was the need to attach importance to youth empowerment as well as youth commitment, innovation and creating the awareness to encourage young people to be fruitful.

He added that, the Government has initiated interventions like Youth in Sports Module, Digital Marketing Program and Nation Builders Corps (NABCO) to engage the youth in meaningful ventures.

The Member of Parliament for Atwima Mponua Constituency expressed appreciation to the Board of Trustees, philanthropists and ministers, who have assisted in steering youth empowerment empower the Youth.

His Royal Highness, Prince Edward, Earl of Wessex KG GCVO advised the youth to be innovative and have self believes and assured them that he was confident about a successful deliberation over the course and hopes for future collaboration in that regard.

The Duke of Edinburg’s Awards started since 1967 and the aim is to empower the youth in Ghanaians to achieve the best developmental practical skill in life.
