Minister for Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, has made a bold personal commitment by pledging two months of his salary to the newly established Sports Fund, hot on the heels of Parliament’s approval of the landmark Sports Fund Bill.

In a passionate address on the floor of Parliament, Adams hailed the fund as a “critical step” toward breathing new life into sports development across the country.

He emphasized its role in delivering sustainable financing for athletes, federations, and grassroots programs, positioning it as a game-changer for Ghanaian sports.

Adams framed his donation as more than a gesture, it’s a personal rallying cry. “This is my demonstration of support for the initiative and a call to action for all stakeholders to contribute to the growth of sports in Ghana,” he declared, urging corporate leaders, individuals, and organizations to follow suit.

The Sports Fund will act as a dedicated financial powerhouse, channeling resources into grassroots initiatives, modern infrastructure, elite athlete preparation, and nationwide efforts to elevate sporting excellence.

This structured approach promises to nurture talent from the Black Stars level down to community pitches.

Parliament’s passage of the bill represents a pivotal policy victory, tackling chronic funding shortages that have long hampered Ghana’s sports sector.

With government optimism high, the fund is poised to unlock reliable support, fueling dreams of greater triumphs on African and global stages.
