Tamale: Court remands man, 37, for transporting ammunition

A Tamale High Court presided over by Justice Richard Kogyapwah has remanded into prison custody the 37-year-old man who was arrested at Yendi with ten boxes containing 250 cartridges.

The accused, Mohammed Gushie has been charged with possessing ammunition without a valid permit. He pleaded not guilty and has been remanded into custody to reappear on the 17th of this month.

It will be recalled, that the Yendi police impounded ten boxes containing two hundred and fifty cartridges. The items were on a metro mass transit bus, which was allegedly headed towards Chereponi.

The district has seen some conflict recently resulting in the deaths of more than thirty people.
