Tamale Teaching Hospital CEO asked to step aside

The Governing Board of the Tamale Teaching Hospital has asked the interim Chief Executive  Officer (CEO)  Dr.David Kolbila to step aside for investigations into an allegation of a procurement breach leveled against him.

Dr.Kolbila has acted as CEO since the former CEO, Dr. Akambong was sacked two years ago and was scheduled for an interview and possible confirmation.

A statement signed by the Board Chairman, Mohammed Nasirudeen, explained that the Public Services Commission has notified it of the allegation leveled against Dr. Kolbila and has therefore directed him to step aside for an independent investigation into the matter.

Meanwhile, the Board in consultation with the Ministry of Health has appointed Dr.Kareem Mumuni of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of the University of Ghana Medical School to act as the interim CEO of the hospital during the period of the investigation.
