Headmistress of Archbishop Porter Girls SHS, in Takoradi in the Western Region, Mrs. Charlotte Asiedu-Musah has confirmed that the teacher who sold the said contaminated food which resulted in ”food poisoning” of her students has been reprimanded.

This forms part of measures put in place to ensure what happened does not re-cur.

Last Friday, 37students from the Archbishop Porter Girls SHS were rushed to the hospital following bouts of diarrhoea and vomiting after consuming salad with Waakye.

The Medical Superintendent of the Holy Child Hospital in Takoradi in the Western Region, Dr. Sylvester Fameye who treated the case of ”food poisoning” explained that a power outage that occurred in the Fijai area could have contributed to bacterial infection in the freshly stored vegetables consumed by the students.

Currently, the students are all doing well.
